What and who ....

So what and who have we got going on here at frohsinnberg projekt! The roll call of is .,. ,., .,. .....

In Studio 2C, we have Alana who is here for the whole projekt. Alana paints women in sexy and haunting ways and she's not afraid to swap the lushous blending of oils with a can of spray to keep it fresh, some of her older works can be seen here*

In Studio 2A, we had Kinga for a month of intensive sculpting before her exhibtion which opens in Krakow late September for more information look here* Next in studio 2A we have Simon who is working with perspex and small paintings.

In Studio 1 we had Sam and Mitch for a super active month their first of their two month funded studio stay in Berlin over summer from the UK. They work with photography, video and paper please look here for a taster and we look forward to inviting them back to exhibit their final works at Frohsinnbergprojekt in October. Next in Studio 1 we will have Hayden Fowler here on a Samstag grant from Australia.

In Studio 5 we have On yau who has been working on some of her beautiful silver jewellery works, On has also started printing up some of her photographs (I was lucky to be given some) and is also seen sketching from time to time.

In Studio 4 Cara and Kyla have been making alot of different works, and here the works can talk for us, for Kyla's blog and pictures click here a closeup of 'the mental magnifier' sculpture is shown below with Cara's drawings.

frohsinnberg projekt

Welcome to Frohsinnberg projekt. Much like our approach to finding and setting up this space, Frohsinnberg is a name derived from spontaneous and fortuitous incidents, friends, local and global connections. 'Frohsinn'- an old German word for happy, a sublime sense of wellbeing, one of the first German words taught to us by Stefan over breakfast on day 4. 'Berg', means mountain, suggests the feeling of looking out over Berlin with an amazing view of the Fernsehturm and the bushy tops of Friedrichshain Volkspark from the balcony.

What is the Frohsinnberg projekt? An inspiring space for studio work, presentation and exhibition, performance and other events. There are photos below. Who is involved?
You can also read the profiles of the current live-in artists on this blog. We invite artists to share our space in Berlin for temporary work spaces, projects and accomodation. How did we get here? That would be where spontaneous and fortuitous incidents come into play. When? from July 1 to November 28, 2008 in our current space. We will keep you posted on our activities on this blog and via our mailing list. Where is Frohsinnberg? In Prenzlauerberg, Berlin, home to many artists, writers and musos, great cafes, flea markets and some remarkable old buildings.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
